Ulano CDF Vision-20 is formulated to control mesh penetration, and form a cross linking matrix during exposure that allows for sharp printing shoulders and mechanical durability. Ulano CDF Vision-20 is suitable for printing applications such as electronics, circuit traces, membrane switches, halftones, CDs and DVDs, ceramic decals, posters, containers and bottles.
Reduces adverse effects from high or low humidity during printing
Ulano CDF Vision-20 is for mesh counts of 120-150 threads/cm
Compatible with UVs, Vinyls, and most all solvent based inks.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR HANDLING & USE
When you’re ready to use Ulano CDF Vision-20, be sure to handle properly and safely.
For used or surface-treated fabrics the only degreaser you will need is the Ulano Screen Degreaser Liquid No. 3, dilute Screen Degreaser Concentrate No. 33, or Magic Mesh Prep. For untreated fabrics, mechanical abrasion is an option and in this case should be treated with Ulano No. 2 Microgrit before degreasing. Then it should be abraided and degreased in one step with Ulanogel 23. After applying degreasers and abraiders, you will need to rinse the fabric thoroughly with water. Then use Magic Mesh Prep or CDF Mesh Prep No. 25.
There are two methods you can choose to use when coating with Ulano CDF Vision-20.
Place a sheet of Ulano CDF Vision-20 on a flat surface, with the emulsion side facing up.
Next, place the printing side of a wet screen on top of the film. When the film is wet it will darken. Make a single squeegee stroke over the squeegee side. Wipe off any excess water, be extra careful to wipe away moisture inside the frame.
Cut the film to size, and roll it (emulsion side out), around a plastic tube (2.5 x 4 cm in diameter). Make a squeegee stroke on the printing side of the mesh. Be sure wetting is uniform. Touch the edge of the roll to the top of the screen, on the printing side of the mesh, then unwind the roll over the mesh. Remove excess water with one light squeegee stroke over the squeegee side.
Thoroughly dry the screen you applied Ulano CDF Vision 20 to at room temperature. Use a dehumidifier if possible in the drying area. You can use a fan to speed the drying process. If drying in humid conditions, dry the screen in a commercial dryer, using temperatures less than 40° C. Remove the backing immediately before exposure.
Base Exposure Times at 4 inches (10 cm.) using unfiltered black light tubes. For "cool white" or "daylight" tubes, use at least double the exposure time. Exposure times vary based on the light source:
2000 watts: 66 sec.
3000 watts: 44 sec.
4000 watts: 33 sec.
5000 watts: 26 sec.
7000 watts: 20 sec.
8000 watts: 17 sec.
Wash the stencil from the printing side only. Begin washing using high pressure water. Reduce the water pressure as the image areas start to open, rinse from the squeegee side until the images become completely clear. Blot away the excess water on both sides, and then allow the screen to dry.
Be very careful, because strong screen openers or ink washes can cause the Ulano CDF Vision-20 to “lock” which makes reclaiming difficult. Use the least powerful ink diluent necessary to remove all remaining ink in the screen. Remove ink and solvent residues using Screen Degreaser Liquid No. 3, to make sure they do not impair the action of the stencil remover. Rinse the screen with high pressure water. Brush both sides of the screen with Stencil Remover Liquid No. 4 or Stencil Remover Paste No. 5. Do not allow the stencil remover to dry on the screen. Wash the screen with a strong spray of water, then use Walk Away Haze Remover or Haze Remover Paste No. 78 to remove ink and haze residues.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR STORAGE:
Keep unused sheets and rolls in cool conditions. Shelf life for Ulano CDF Vision-20 is up to 18 months. However, when not stored at proper conditions the useful life can decrease. Humid or hot environments can decrease the life of Ulano CDF Vision-20. Proper storage conditions are:
