INSTRUCTIONS FOR HANDLING & USE
For best results, use Autotype Capillex 20 only under yellow safelights. Sunlight, fluorescent and incandescent lights will render the capillary film useless.
Before you can use your Autotype Capillex 20, you must clear your mesh of any cleaning chemistry, residual inks or dirt and dust. That way, you can ensure that your product will come out smoothly. Before you begin coating your Autotype Capillex 20 with emulsion, it is important to dry your screen. Remember that used meshes should be re-abraded after every 5 stencils.
When using Autotype Capillex 20 with a large or small screen, use a Caplicator film applicator for best results. Cut your film to size, and place it on a dry, flat surface. As you roll the film, emulsion side out, leave 2 cm of Autotype Capillex 20 unrolled. Then, put your film inside the Caplicator, spray the mesh with water and wipe off any excess. Place your rolled film to the top of the wet vertical screen and slowly unroll your Autotype Capillex 20 down the screen. This will help adhere the capillary film to the screen.
If you plan on only using small screens, make sure you first place the film emulsion onto a raised pad and lay a dry, degreased screen on top of it. Spray water onto the mesh until your Autotype Capillex 20 is completely wet. Use a lightweight squeegee to remove excess water. Then, proceed to dry.
The screen can be dried with cold or warm air, maximum 30 °C (86 °F). It is important to dry the screen properly for optimal results. After the support peels off, continue drying for a few minutes to ensure the film is completely dry
It is important to get the timing right on exposure. A underexposed image will look weak and fade away weakly. To make sure your Autotype Capillex 20 Capillary Films comes out perfectly, we recommend by starting by removing the dust from the surface of the stencil. Then, tape the positive in position. Place entire screen in a suitable vacuum frame and expose. For best results on exposure timing, use the Autotype Exposure Calculator.
After you have finished using your Autotype Capillex 20, and you want to wash out your screen, spray water on both sides and flood out the screen. When you have removed all excess residue, you can blot off surplus moisture. Dry at a maximum temperature of 30 °C (86 °F).
INSTRUCTIONS FOR STORAGE
Always keep your Autotype Capillex 20 in the protective packaging supplied. Make sure it is at a moderate temperature (40 to 86 °F) with 45- 60% humid, and dry. Do not store it in a damp place. That will speed up the expiry date. If left in good condition, Autotype Capillex 20 lasts for about 18 months.
