APPLICATIONS

Autotype Capillex 25 is one of the world's most popular precision coated, pre-sensitised capillary photostencil films. It creates high-quality prints, is versatile, and works well with solvent based or UV-curing inks. Autotype Capillex 25 is ideal for printing on circuit boards, electronics, and industrial switching.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR HANDLING & USE.

For best results, use Autotype Capillex 25 only under yellow safelights. Light sources like sunlight, fluorescent and incandescent lights will all damage the product.


Mesh Preparation:

Before you begin using your Autotype Capillex 25, you must clean your screen of any cleaning chemistry, residual inks or dirt and dust. That way, you can ensure that your Autotype Capillex 25 will come out smoothly. Before you begin coating Autotype Capillex 25 with emulsion, you must dry the screen. Remember that used meshes should be re-abraded after every 5 stencils.


Coating Procedure:

When you have a small or large screen and decide to use Autotype Capillex 25, make sure you use a Caplicator film applicator to have the best results. Cut your film to size, and place it on a dry, flat surface. As you roll out the film, place it emulsion side out, while leaving 2 cm of Autotype Capillex 25 unrolled. Then, put your film inside the Caplicator, spray the mesh with water and wipe off any excess. Place your rolled film to the top of the wet vertical screen and slowly unroll your Autotype Capillex 25 down the screen. This will help adhere your Autotype Capillex 25 to the screen.

If you strictly use small screens, first place your film emulsion onto a raised pad and put your dry, degreased screen on top. Spray water onto your Autotype Capillex 25 until it is completely wet. Then, use a lightweight squeegee to get rid of excess water. Proceed to dry your screen as you normally would.







Drying:

After applying Autotype Capillex 25, your screen can be dried with cold or warm air at a maximum temperature of 30 °C (86 °F). It is important to dry the screen properly for optimal results. After the support peels off, continue drying for a few minutes to ensure the film is completely dry.


Exposure:

When exposing your image, timing will always be crucial. If an image is underexposed, it will look weak and fade away quickly. For best results with your Autotype Capillex 25, we recommend that you start by removing the dust from the surface of the stencil. Then, tape the positive in position. Place the entire screen in a suitable vacuum frame and expose your image. If you want to learn about ideal exposure times, try using an Autotype Exposure Calculator.


Washout:

To wash out your screen, take a garden-like hose and gently spray both sides of your screen with lukewarm water. Wait a few seconds for the emulsion to soften up the print side and fully open up the image. When it’s been fully washed out, rinse both sides and dry. You can also use a cabinet or fan at this stage to dry your screen.


INSTRUCTIONS FOR STORAGE:

Your Autotype Capillex 25 should always be stored in a cool and dry area. It should be kept in the protective packaging supplied and kept as close to ideal conditions as possible. Ideal conditions include:

  • 45- 60% humidity

  • 5 to 20 °C (40 to 86 °F)

*Under these conditions, the shelf life is about two years.
