 Extended Descriptions

Autotype Capillex 25 is a pre-sensitized, precision coated, solvent resistant capillary film.. It creates high-quality prints and is suitable with all solvent and UV inks. Autotype Capillex 25 is ideal for screen printing applications that use medium/fine mesh.

  • Coated onto a 75µ (3 thou) polyester base

  • Performs best on printed circuit boards, electronics, membrane touch switches, and industrial making

  • Autotype Capillex 25 works well with a mesh range of 80 to 120/cm (200 to 305/inch).

  • Able to work on under a variety of different conditions

  • Quick to decoat

For best results, use Autotype Capillex 25 only under yellow safelights. Light sources like sunlight, fluorescent and incandescent lights will all damage the product.

Mesh Preparation:

Before you begin using your Autotype Capillex 25, you must clean your screen of any residual inks or dirt and dust. New meshes should be abraded with Autoprep gel before use. Previously used meshes should be re-abraded every 5 stencils.

Coating Procedure:

Both large and small screens should use a Caplicator film applicator for best results. Cut your film to size and place it on a dry, flat surface. Roll the film emulsion-side out, leaving 2 cm of Autotype Capillex 25 unrolled. Place the film inside the Caplicator, then spray the dusted mesh with water, wiping off any excess. Contact the leading edge of the rolled film on top of the wet screen and unroll the film down, adhering it to the mesh.

For small screens only, place your film emulsion onto a raised pad and place your dry, degreased screen on top. Spray water on the Autotype Capillex 25 until it is completely wet. Then, use a lightweight squeegee to get rid of excess water. Proceed to dry your screen as normal.

The screen can be dried using cold or warm air at a maximum temperature of 30 °C (86 °F). It is important to properly dry the screen to achieve optimal results. After the support peels off, continue drying for a few minutes to ensure the film is completely dry.

When exposing your image, correct timing is essential for optimum stencil performance. Underexposure results in a weak stencil and reduce fading resistance. For best results with your Autotype Capillex 25, we recommend that you start by removing the dust from the surface of the stencil. Then, tape the positive in position. Place the entire screen in a suitable vacuum frame and expose your image. We recommend using the Autotype Exposure Calculator to ensure correct timing.

To wash out your screen, wet both sides of the screen with a strong spray of water. Continue until the entire image appears clear and sharp. Once completely washed, blot off excess moisture and dry at a maximum temperature of 30º C (86º F). You may spot out pinholes with sensitized emulsion.

The Autotype Capillex 25 should be kept in the supplied protective packaging. The film should always be stored in a cool and dry area, away from heat sources. Your Autotype Capillex 25 should always be stored in a cool and dry area. The correct storage conditions are:

  • 45% - 60% humidity

  • 5 to 20 °C (40 to 86 °F)

*Under these conditions, the shelf life is about two years.
