Autotype Capillex CX is a photostencil film made for fine line printing. Autotype Capillex CX gives a low and controlled stencil profile, and has a mesh range of 62-100 cm. It is good for print reproduction because of its low profile and optimized Rz. Often, when trying to get a high definition print on coarse mesh, you may experience thick edge effects, Autotype Capillex CX will minimize this effect.
Green colored capillary photostencil film
Can be used with UV, or solvent-based inks
Very low senticil profile: 3-4?
Optimized stencil surface
High resolution and excellent print quality
INSTRUCTIONS FOR HANDLING & USE
Autotype Capillex CX is only for use as a capillary photo stencil film.
Abrade all new meshes with Autoprep gel, before using. Immediately prior to mounting film, use Universal mesh prep to degrease mesh.
When it is time to use your Capillex CX start by cutting the film to the correct dimensions and placing it on a dry flat surface. Remove dust from the polyester backing film as it is rolled. Roll the film emulsion side out, around the plastic tube that is included with the Capilicator. Next, place the film in the cassette with approximately 2 cm unrolled. Spray the mesh with water, and then wipe away excess water from the screen. Place the film so that the leading the leading edge of the rolled film makes contact first with the top of the wet vertical screen, and unroll the film down the screen, so that it adheres to the mesh. Using a lightweight squeegee remove any excess moisture from the inside of the screen. Finally, wipe moisture from the perimeter of the screen, with an absorbent cloth. There are two different methods for coating small screens:
Place the film emulsion side up, on a raised pad, or mounting board.
Gently draw a wet degreased film across the screen, to adhere the film to the mesh.
Squeegee away any excess water from inside screen and wipe water from perimeter
Place film on a raised pad, emulsion side up, then place screen on top
Use a hand spray water bottle to spray the mesh until the film is completely wet
Squeegee off excess water from inside screen and wipe water from perimeter
Dry the screen with cold or warm air at a maximum of 40?. Continue drying for a few minutes after the support has been removed, to make certain that screen is totally dry.
Put the positive with emulsion in contact with the stencil, then place in the frame. It is important to establish the correct exposure level, when using Autotype Capillex CX, since light sources may vary in their general spectral output.
Washout the stencil with a strong water spray, of 45º C. Be sure to continue washing, after the image is clear, for about 1 minute. Once you are finished with the washout, remove excess water using newsprint or washleather, then dry with cold or warm air, at a maximum of 40º C.
Use an Autosolve screen wash, to clean the screen of any residue or ink. Then, rinse the screen thoroughly with water, and use the Autotype Brush to apply Autostrip to both sides of the mesh, which will be leave it on for 5-10 minutes, so that the emulsion will soften. Next, brush it over, and rinse it off, using a strong water spray. A high pressure stripper is the most effective removal method. However, Autosolve can be used to remove any stencil residue and residual ink haze can be removed with Autokleen Pus or Autohaze Extra.
