INSTRUCTIONS FOR HANDLING & USE
Chromaline Chroma/Tech PL should only be handled under yellow safelights to avoid preexposure. For your safety, it is advised that you avoid any contact with the skin or eyes.
Chromaline Chroma/Tech PL comes pre-sensitized. You will not have to mix it with a sensitizer.
Always make sure to clean your mesh prior to applying any emulsion. In particular, make sure to get rid of all leftover cleaning chemistry, residual inks or dirt and dust. Begin your mesh preparation by using a degreaser. You can either use the Chromaline Chroma/Clean mesh degreaser or your preference. Work up a lather on both sides of the screen, flood the screen and frame thoroughly with a garden hose or pressure washer and finish by drying.
After you’ve prepared your mesh, take a pail and cover the print side with your emulsion. Make sure that your tool is both clean and smooth enough to ensure an even coating. And when you’ve put it down, make sure to cover it. You may want to apply more than one coat here or also to coat the print side again if your stencil is thicker.
While you are coating, keep in mind that Chromaline Chroma/Tech PL is about the same as four coats of wet on wet with a typical diazo based emulsions. Also, during the process, always return any unused emulsion from the pail to the bucket as quickly as possible. The emulsion dries very quickly, so leaving it alone will cause it to “skin over.”
In order for the Chromaline Chroma/Tech PL to properly dry, keep it in horizontal position, print side down. Make sure your space is clean, cool, and light-safe. Ideal drying conditions include:
Place emulsion side of photopositive in contact with print side of screen. Suggested exposure times were set for a 5KW unit at 40" from the frame.

When it’s time to washout your screen, gently spray both sides with tepid water. Wait a few seconds to the emulsion to soften and then wash the print side out. Once the image is open, you can rinse both sides thoroughly. Dry the screen. For best results, we recommend you use a drying cabinet and/or electric fans. Then, to develop your emulsion, take a pressure washer and fan spray it.
To reclaim, apply Chromaline Chroma/Strip or a screen reclaimer of your choice to both sides of screen. When you use our products, you’ll get the best results. Then, use a stiff nylon brush to scrub the reclaimed part. Make sure the entire surface is wet and let it sit for a few moments. After the stencil has dissolved, remove its residue with pressured water. Finally, use water to thoroughly rinse the entire screen and frame.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR STORAGE
Your Chromaline Chroma/Tech PL is not thaw stable, so make sure you take care to not freeze it. Ideally, you should leave it left at room temperature. It should never go above 80° F (27° C) or below 32° F (0° C). Under these conditions, your emulsion should last about 24 months.
Extending the Life of Your Emulsion
Keep your emulsion in a cool area. Heat, humidity, and the elements can make your emulsion break down and speed up the expiration date.
Keep the lid tightly on your Chromaline Chroma/Tech PL to avoid air or light leaks. Light, air, and other particles can contaminate your emulsion.
It is important to stir your Chromaline Chroma/Tech PL every time you use it.
