INSTRUCTIONS FOR HANDLING & USE
For the best results and to avoid preexposure, make sure to use your Chemical Consultants ProChem VPR only under yellow safelight conditions. While you are handling Chemical Consultants ProChem VPR avoid contact with the skin or eyes.
Chemical Consultants ProChem VPR is one part emulsion that does not need a diazo to be sensitized. Instead, it is presensitized, meaning you can use it straight from the container.
Before applying your Chemical Consultants ProChem VPR, make sure to get rid of all leftover cleaning chemistry, residual inks or dirt and dust on your mesh.
After you’ve prepared your mesh, make sure that the tool you utilize is both clean and smooth enough to ensure an even coating. First start by applying one or two coats of emulsion to the print side of the screen. Rotate the frame 180 degrees and apply one or two coats to the squeegee side. You may want to apply more than one coat here or also to coat the print side again if your stencil is thicker. Always make sure to dry in between coats.
Always dry your Chemical Consultants ProChem VPR in a horizontal position, print side down. To ensure the proper drying, make sure your space is clean, cool, and light-safe. Ideal drying conditions are as follows:
To get the best results, use an exposure calculator for a more accurate exposure time. Exposure is not only affected by a clean film positive but mesh color, emulsion type, emulsion thickness and the exposure unit you choose to use. Below is a list of suggested exposure times based on a Metal Halide lamp and if the screen is coated 2/2:
8k Metal Halide Lamp: Mesh/Inch= 86, White: 25 sec.
5k Metal Halide Lamp: Mesh/Inch= 86, White: 45 sec.
8k Metal Halide Lamp: Mesh/Inch=100, White: 20 sec.
5k Metal Halide Lamp: Mesh/Inch=100, White: 35 sec.
8k Metal Halide Lamp: Mesh/Inch=200, Yellow: 20 sec.
5k Metal Halide Lamp: Mesh/Inch=200, Yellow: 35 sec.
8k Metal Halide Lamp: Mesh/Inch=305, Yellow: 18 sec.
5k Metal Halide Lamp: Mesh/Inch=305, Yellow: 30 sec.
8k Metal Halide Lamp: Mesh/Inch=350, Yellow: 15 sec.
5k Metal Halide Lamp: Mesh/Inch=350, Yellow: 25 sec.
When it’s time to washout your screen, gently spray both sides with lukewarm water. Wait a few seconds to let the emulsion soften and then wash the print side out. Once the image is open, you can rinse both sides thoroughly. Dry the screen. For best results, we recommend you use a drying cabinet and/or electric fans. A vacuum can also be used to accelerate drying.
If you would like to reclaim your screen after using Chemical Consultants ProChem VPR, simply use a concentrated emulsion remover of your choice to remove excess ink and other chemicals.
